Andrew Schwartz, 63

Andrew A. Schwartz, 63 years, of Hamilton, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Select Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana, with his family at his side.  Andrew was born January 19, 1951 in Bowling Green, Missouri, the son of the late Joseph S. and Amelia E. (Yoder) Schwartz.  He married Ida E. Mullett on January 11, 1973 in Fairbank, Iowa.  Andrew was the owner of Schwartz Sawmill and also farmed his entire life.  Andrew was the Bishop of the Old Order Amish Church.

Surviving is his wife, Ida E. of Hamilton; six sons, Eli (Rosa) Schwartz of Edon, Ohio, Emanuel (Lydia) Schwartz of Hamilton, Indiana, Samuel (Barbara) Schwartz of Hamilton, Indiana, Menno Schwartz of Hamilton, Indiana, Joseph Schwartz of Hamilton, Indiana and Marvin Schwartz of Hamilton, Indiana; six daughters, Linda (Joseph) Schmucker of Edon, Ohio, Rhoda (Menno) Schmucker of Edon, Ohio, Katherine (Reuben) Girod of Salem, Indiana, Elizabeth (Jesse) Graber of Quincy, Michigan, Barbara (James) Graber of Quincy, Michigan, Laura Schwartz of Hamilton, Indiana; 40 grandchildren; five brothers, Noah (Mattie) Schwartz of Bowling Green, Missouri, Samuel (Judy) Schwartz of Canton, Pennsylvania, Eli (Susan) Schwartz of Hamilton, Indiana, John (Fanny) Schwartz of Hamilton, Indiana, Henry (Rebecca) Schwartz of Hamilton, Indiana; five sisters, Rhoda (Albert) Mast of Rocky Comfort, Missouri, Elizabeth (Emanuel) Eicher of Hamilton, Indiana, Lydia (Paul) Eicher of Hillsboro, Ohio, Katie (John) Schwartz of Montgomery, Michigan and Barbara (Jonas) Graber of Reading, Michigan.

The family will receive relative and friends on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the family residence, 5070 South 800 East, Hamilton, Indiana 46742.  Funeral services for Andrew A. Schwartz will be held Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Schwartz residence.  Burial will follow in the Amish Cemetery, Hamilton, Indiana.

The family would like to offer their thanks and gratitude for all your help, prayers, gifts, letters and other greetings.  They would also like to thank all the Doctors and Nurses who cared for Andrew over the past 11 weeks.  Andrew passed away peacefully without any struggles.  We thank the Lord for that blessing.
