Maurice Rupp, 97

Maurice L. Rupp, age 97, passed away late Wednesday December 17, 2014 at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold. He was part owner of Delta Livestock Auction and retired in 1982.

Mr. Rupp was born in Pettisville, Ohio on August 17, 1917 the son of Harvey B. and Mary Ann (Lantz) Rupp. On September 7, 1947 he married the former Georgia Huber and she preceded him in death in 2002. On January 17, 2004 he married the former Joyce Schuette and she survives. He was a member of the Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon where he had held many leadership positions over the years. Mr. Rupp was a US Army veteran of WWII where he had served in the European theater. He was a member of the former Pettisville American Legion Post. Mr. Rupp had been an avid golfer having achieved not one, but two holes-in-ones.

Surviving are two daughters; Beth Hurd (Jim) of Shawnee, Kansas, Mary Sue Rupp of Chicago, Illinois, son; David Rupp (Darlene) of Columbus, Ohio, 4 grandchildren and 10 great grand children. Also surviving are stepchildren; Scott Schuette of Wauseon, Ohio, Todd Schuette of Bryan, Ohio, 5 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren. Three sisters; Catherine Leitner, Evelyn Pontius and Ilva Shaynak and bother Charles Rupp also survive. Preceding him in death besides his first wife, Georgia were brothers Glenford, Orville and Richard and sisters Martha Huber, Clela Nofziger and Ada Andrews.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday December 22, 2014 at the Crossroads Evangelical Church with Pastor Matt Boyers officiating. Interment will precede the memorial service at 11:00am in the Pettisville Cemetery. Friends may call in the Chapel of the Crossroads Evangelical Church on Sunday from 2:00-5:00pm.
