David Poulson, 89

David F. Poulson, 89 years, of Farmer, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance.  David was born May 25, 1925 in Belmont County, Ohio, the son of the late Harry and Eva (Perkins) Poulson.  He was a graduate of Beallsville High School, then went on to attend The Ohio State University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture and Education.  David was a WW II Army veteran.  He married Florence M. Connelly on December 26, 1947 in Farmer, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on April 20, 2007.  David then married Corrine A. (Straley) Snyder on March 24, 2009, and she also preceded him in death on September 17, 2013.  David was a teacher, teaching in the New Bremen, Fort Loramie, Central Local and North Central School Districts.  He also was a farmer and had worked at Stark Truss, Chief Supermarket and NOCAC.  He was a member of the Farmer United Methodist Church, Farmer Grange, Farmer American Legion Post 137 and the Ohio Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association.  David had been a 4-H Advisor and involved in FFA.

David is survived by his six children, Peggy (Tom) Lucas of Bryan; Barbara (Duane) Landefeld of Woodsfield, Ohio, Paul (Debbie) Poulson of  Iron Mountain, Michigan, Mark (Carol) Poulson of Ney, Ohio, John (Lexie) Poulson of Archbold, Ohio and Tom (Sara) Poulson of Johnstown, Ohio; six stepchildren, Barbara (Daniel) Everidge of Ohio City, Ohio, Jerry (Peggy) Snyder of Ohio City, Ohio, Jack (Deborah) Snyder of Ohio City, Ohio, Norma (Dean) Schweizer of Celina, Ohio, Nancy (Karl) Hans of Churubusco, Indiana and Margaret (Mike) Fetcho of Holland, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and 10 step great-grandchildren and one step great-great grandson; two sisters, Naomi Marmie of Beallsville, Ohio and Lois (Kenneth) Kemp of Bethesda, Ohio.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, one sister, Florence Burgess, one step grandchild and one step great-grandchild.

Visitation for David F. Poulson will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday February 14, 2015 in the Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Adkins officiating.  Interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Farmer American Legion Post 137.
