Truck Crash Near Defiance

The driver of a tractor trailer is lucky following a crash Wednesday morning on US-24 west of Defiance. The driver, whose name has not been released, was treated at ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital after his rig left the roadway just after 6am Wednesday, traveled down a steep bank, into a ditch and finally stopped some 60 feet off the road. A 50-gallon diesel fuel tank was leaking, but according to the EMA which was called in, only about five gallons of fuel spilled, and that was cleaned up. Bad weather is being blamed.
