Melvin L. Cordy, age 64, of Fayette, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Thursday, April 2, 2015. Prior to his retirement he had worked for Krueger Construction in Archbold, for many years.
Melvin was born in Wauseon on July 2, 1950, the son of Stanley R. and Marcella M. (Merillat) Cordy. On September 23, 1983 he married Virginia Mauder, and she preceded him in death. Melvin loved to go to flea markets and auctions.
Surviving is one daughter, Erika (Brandon) Ford of Adrian, MI; two grandchildren, Alexandria and Samuel Ford; and one sister, Phyllis (Michael) Stamm, of Wauseon. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia; son, Travis Cordy; and two brothers, Albert and Robert Cordy.
Combined graveside funeral services for both Melvin and Travis will be scheduled in the near future. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Christian Mission, 1239 Wolf Creek Highway, Adrian, MI 49221.
