Edward Hager,48

Edward Allen Hager, 48, of Montpelier, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday April 4, 2015 at Community Hospitals & Wellness Centers in Bryan. He was born on May 26, 1966 in McHenry, Illinois to Jimmie R. and Antoinette L. (Rigsby) Hager. Allen, as he was also known, graduated from Guyan Valley High School in West Virginia in 1984.

On May 6, 2006 Edward married Evonne L. Matthews in Montpelier and she survives. He attended New Beginnings Church in Montpelier and Life Changing Realities in Edgerton, Ohio. Allen served his country in the United States Army.  He loved to fish, and was a fan of NASCAR and the past few years he was able to be a stay at home dad.

Edward is survived by his mother, Antoinette “Toni” Hager of West Virginia; wife, Evonne L. Hager of Montpelier; four children, Brandi Hager and Randy Vickery of Alvordton, Ohio, Marie and Jimmie Hager of Montpelier; two sisters, Terry (Jeff) White and Kelly Hager of West Virginia; niece, Summer Moon of Montpelier; and best friend, Al (Mary Jo) Elkins of West Virginia.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jimmie R. Hager and brother-in-law Duane Moon.

Visitation for Edward will be held on Wednesday, April 8th from 4-7 pm at Thompson-Geesey Funeral Home, Empire Chapel, 335 Empire Street in Montpelier. A celebration of Edward’s life will take place at 7 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Martinelli to officiate.

Donations may be made in memory of Edward Allen Hager to The Thompson-Geesey Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. Due to an allergy in the Hager family, they have requested that all flower arrangements be made of silk.
