Williams Co. Sheriff Says Holiday City Needs Marshal

Holiday City needs a marshal, as far as Williams County sheriff Steven Towns is concerned. He said as much in a letter to Holiday City mayor Shawn Clark, who delivered the message in a village council meeting last week. Officials thought a marshal had been appointed upon the village’s founding in 1997, but further research showed that never happened. Ohio law says Holiday City is required to either have its own marshal or contract with another police department, whether that be the county sheriff or another city’s force, for law enforcement services.
