Ila Harrington, 83

Ila L. Harrington, 83 years, of Bryan, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at her home with her family at her side.  Ila was born August 30, 1931 in Montpelier, the daughter of the late Kirk and Edna (Koch) Zigler.  She was a 1949 graduate of West Unity High School, then attended Beauty School where she attained her credentials to serve as a Beautician.  She married Richard “Dick” Harrington on November 10, 1950, and he survives.  Ila was a Beautician in the Bryan area for 50 years, retiring in 2001.  She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bryan, where she assisted in the Outreach Food Bank. Ila was also involved in the Bryan Lioness Club, Bryan Moose Lodge #1064 and the ONO (Our Night Out) Club.  She also served as a hospice volunteer.  Ila was known as being an excellent cook and for her service to others.  She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and playing a good game of cards.

In addition to her husband Dick, Ila is survived by four children, Randy (Denise) Harrington of Bryan, Cindy (Mark) Dennis of Pioneer, Gary Harrington of Bryan and Krista (Greg) Steiner of Montpelier; ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta (Robert) Scott of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Mary Lou (Ed) Jackson of Woodbine, Georgia.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, C. LoAnn Schlosser Williams and one brother, Leland Zigler.

Visitation for Ila L. Harrington will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan.  Funeral services for Ila will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 903 Center Street, with Rev. Jeffrey Motter officiating.  Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery, Bryan.
