Fatal Motorcycle Crash In Defiance

One man is dead after a motor­cy­cle crash. It hap­pened just after 4 on Sun­day after­noon on State Route 281, just east of Sny­der Road in Defi­ance County. 58 year old Ran­dall Akers was on a motor­cy­cle headed east on 281, when he attempted to pass a car in front of him, and then saw an oncom­ing vehi­cle dri­ven by 48 year old Christo­pher Long of Defi­ance. Akers went off the road, and crashed into a ditch. Akers was not wear­ing a hel­met. He was pro­nounced dead the scene.
