A Montpelier man was arrested Monday after the driver of a reported stolen vehicle fled from the scene of an accident east of Pleasant Lake. K-9 units from Orland and Ashley were brought in to search for the suspect. While the police dogs were tracking him, members of the Steuben County Highway Department, who were working in the area, reported seeing a man matching the description of the man walk out of some woods. 37-year-old Mark Henry Sidle was arrested and turned over to the Indiana State Police, who charged him with leaving the scene of a vehicle crash and for being in possession of a stolen vehicle. The whole thing is still under investigation and the Sheriff’s Department says additional charges are possible.
