Some Paulding County roads have been closed due to high water, and many folks are busy filling sandbags to help protect homes from rising water. The state has closed Ohio 66 between Ohio 637 and Ohio 613 near Oakwood as well as Ohio 500 from the Indiana state line to Ohio 111 and Ohio 613 from Ohio 637 to Jackson Township Road 131. The water also has affected the U.S. 127 detour too, where drivers are now directed to turn west on Ohio 114 and then onto 49 before returning to U.S. 24. The county has closed several roads near Payne and Oakwood, and in other areas as well. The following roadways in Paulding County were closed due to high water as of early Wednesday afternoon: County Road I, between Ohio 48 and Ohio 500; County Road 48, between County roads 1 and 17; County Road 17, between Ohio 48 and Ohio 500; County Road 60 in two places (between County roads 187 and 177 and between County Roads 197 and 197); County Road 177 in two places (between County roads 60 and 48 and around County Road 72; County Road 72, between Ohio 49 and County Road 33, and County Road 263, between County roads 205 and 207. High water signs have also been placed on several county roads including County roads 173, 24, 123, 1, 123, 12, 177, 132 and 87 and Paulding Township Road 81.
