An agreement has been reached between the Defiance City Board of Education and Defiance property owners Talmer and Sandra Hillman concerning land just south of the Defiance High School campus. During a special meeting held yesterday, a resolution was approved that authorizes a settlement of $265,000 for 4.2 acres at 1795 Palmer Drive. Earlier this year, the land’s fair market value was originally appraised at $115,000. Now, it clears the way for a new facility to be built along Palmer Drive for grades 6–12, as well as related facilities and improvements to the area. The Hillmans may stay on the property until Sept. 30.
