Coldwater Outage Blamed on Lightning Strike

A light­ning strike is being blamed for a power out­age in Cold­wa­ter yes­ter­day morn­ing. Parts of the west side of the city remained in the dark as the sun came up fol­low­ing the strike that occurred around 4:45am as part of a sys­tem of thun­der­storms that rolled through the area. Util­ity crews found three trans­form­ers that had been knocked out and worked quickly to restore power to area res­i­dents and busi­ness shortly before lunchtime.
