Paulding Eyes Tax Revisions

Folks living in Paulding could soon have some new income tax ordinances to deal with. Changes in the tax structure were discussed by Paulding Village Council on Monday. At the meeting earlier this week, Solicitor Mike Jones presented council members with a 61-page sample ordinance, which is about 40 pages longer than the current village income tax law. The sample ordinance was put together in an effort to comply with House Bill 5, which mandates that municipal income tax codes be amended by Jan. 1 , 2016. Jones explained that the biggest difference between the sample ordinance and the village’s current law, are how interest for penalties are calculated.
