West Nile Surfaces In Williams County

The Ohio Depart­ment of Health con­firmed on Wednes­day that the state’s first fatal West Nile virus human case took place in Williams County. A 91-year-old Williams County man, whose name has not been released, was hos­pi­tal­ized with encephali­tis. So far this year, there have been eight reported human cases of West Nile Virus in Ohio in six coun­ties includ­ing Williams, Cuya­hoga, Franklin, Hamil­ton, Lucas and Lorain Coun­ties. Ohio reported 11 human West Nile Virus cases in 2014, 24 in 2013 and 122 in 2012.
