Margaret E. Sonner, age 98, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at Fountain Park Inn and Villas, where she was a resident, after a brief illness. Mrs. Sonner was a graduate of Oaktown, Indiana, High School and was a member of Oaktown United Methodist Church. After moving to the Hicksville, Ohio, area she attended Calvary United Methodist Church in Williams Center, Ohio. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, puzzles and was a avid reader and excellent cook.
Margaret E. Sonner was born on May 22, 1917, in Oaktown, Indiana, the daughter of Fred and Nora E. (Loveall) Fox, Jr. She married Edgar Sonner on October 16, 1933, in Defiance, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on June 23, 1979.
Survivors include her thirteen children, Edward (Phyllis) Sonner, Sue (Marvin) Gilbert, Ellen (Jerry) Spencer, all of Bryan, Fred Sonner, of Lady Lake, Florida, her triplets, Janice (Richard) Cromwell, of Coldwater, Michigan, Judy (Ed) Barnett, of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and Jane (John) Moore, of Ottawa, Ohio, Larry (Hazel) Sonner, of Bryan, Linda (John) Ramey, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Sharilyn Webb, of Bryan, Loretta Houston, of Fort Wayne, Tammie (John) Cole, of Gig Harbor, Washington, and Melanie Colwell, of Pleasant Lake, Indiana; forty-one grandchildren; sixty-one great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Joan Miller, four sisters, Geneva Chaney, Sylvia Hollingsworth, Ruby Bond and Myra Buckles; one granddaughter, Hope Okuley; one grandson, Tony Jackson; one great-granddaughter, Melissa Grear; and one great-grandson, Michael Baxter.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2015, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan. Interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery, Farmer, Ohio. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M., on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or to the American Cancer Society.
