Defiance College named “Military Friendly”

Defiance College has been designated a 2016 Military Friendly School. The title is awarded to the top colleges, universities, community colleges, and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace military students and to dedicate resources to ensure their success both in the classroom and after graduation. Schools are graded on military support on campus, graduation and employment outcomes and military spouse policies. This is the seventh consecutive year that DC has been named to the list. This designation provides service members and their families with transparent, data-driven ratings about education and career opportunities after leaving the military.

Northwest State Community College will recognize veteran students, faculty and staff with an appreciation luncheon on November 17th. Officials from the college say it’s their way of thanking those military members for the sacrifices they have made to preserve the country’s freedom. They’ll also take the opportunity to find out other things the school can do to help veterans who are enrolled, or may enroll at a future date. There are 40 student veterans attending NSCC.
