Sales up this year

In news that affects your wal­let, the local econ­omy is improv­ing. The Ohio Treasurer’s Office reports that sales tax dis­tri­b­u­tions are up more than a half mil­lion dol­lars from March to August this year. July was the biggest sales month, March was the slow­est. Accord­ing to the Depart­ment of Labor, con­sumer spend­ing is approx­i­mately 70 per­cent of the nation’s gross domes­tic prod­uct.
A woman miss­ing for sev­eral hours from Hickville has been found safe and sound. The 66-year-old woman had left home on foot Sun­day after­noon and was located south­west of her home­town about 10 miles away in Indiana.
