Norbert H. Koppenhofer, age 93, of Wauseon passed away late Wednesday May 22, 2013 at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold. Mr. Koppenhofer was a lifelong area Farmer. He had also worked for the Ohio Turnpike for 18 years.
Mr. Koppenhofer was born on December 2, 1919 the son of the late Arthur and the late Anna (Rabe) Koppenhofer. On January 6, 1946 he married the former Dorathea “Dottie” Bunke and she survives. He was a faithful member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Delta where he had served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He was a US Army veteran of WWII and a member of the Delta American Legion.
Surviving besides his wife Dorathea “Dottie” is son Keith (Joyce) Koppenhofer of Oak Harbor, Ohio, daughter Jean (Bill) Herrick of Wauseon, grandchildren; Kam, Kara, Michelle, David, Jonathan, Gretchen, T.W., Ben and Amanda. Also surviving are 10 great-grandchildren, brother Art (Loretta) Koppenhofer of Defiance, Sister-in-law; Valeta Koppenhofer, and special friends; The Rich Rodriguez family. Preceding him in death was son, Gary and daughter-in-law Connie, grandson Steve and brother Melvin.
Mr. Koppenhofer’s family would like to thank, the wonderful, caring staff of Fairlawn Haven and Chaplain Gautsche. Also, a warm thank you to Pastor Eric Markovich and our many loving friends and church family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm Friday May 31, 2013 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Delta with Pastor Eric Markovich officiating. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 11:30am until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to either the Trinity Lutheran Church or Fairlawn Haven.
