A man was sentenced to prison on Monday after being charged with grand theft. Shon Cantu was given a 58 month prison term with credit for 75 days served in jail while his case was pending.
Cantu was sentenced in Defiance Common Pleas court for three counts of grand theft when the property is a firearm or dangerous ordnance, grand theft of a motor vehicle, breaking and entering, and interference with custody.
According to court records, the charges alleged that on September 10 he stole a vehicle from inside a garage, stole three guns from a relative, and transported a female juvenile from her residence across state lines without permission.
