A man shot himself in a standoff with Putnam County Sheriff Deputies Saturday morning.
Just after 3:30 AM deputies responded to reports of a man with a gun in the 6700 block of U.S. Rt. 224 in the Village of Ottawa.
According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, deputies tried to negotiate with 25-year-old Matthew Mullins.
Deputies say Mullins shot himself after two hours of negotiations with the gun he was holding.
Mullins was transported by Life Flight to St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima where he was listed in critical condition at last check.
