A Well Known Band Designer Dies

Erica Widmer, a color guard designer and member of the marching band program’s design staff at East Noble High School, dies from complications from injuries sustained after an automobile accident Friday night in Allen County. Widmer was an Angola High School graduate and former teacher at both Angola and Prairie Heights. While at Prairie Heights, she was the assistant theatre director. She was known throughout the state of Indiana in the world of marching band and color guard. East Noble’s winter guard was named Indiana High School Color Guard Association 2017 Region A state champions under her direction, which was one of many state titles she was associated with.
