Angola sex offender turns self in

An Angola man surrendered without incident at the Steuben County Jail on Monday night on a warrant charging him with a felony count of failure to register as a sex or violent offender. The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department said in a release that 31 year old Steven J. Hawn was charged after a Sheriff’s Office investigation that he failed to report a change in address within the time period mandated by the law. Hawn was booked into the Steuben County Jail and is being held with a $10,000 bond.
