Angola suspect held on rape charge

A rural Angola man is facing two felony charges after an alleged sexual assault involving a knife near Silver Lake last week. 41-year-old Chad Farrell was formally charged with felony of rape with a deadly weapon and criminal confinement with a deadly weapon during an initial hearing in Magistrates Court on Friday afternoon. His bond was set at $150,000 and not guilty pleas were entered on his behalf. The court also issued a no contact order for the alleged victim.
The case will go through Steuben Circuit Court where a pre-trial conference was scheduled for April 11th.
