Archbold keeps interim police chief after they allow him to retire

In Archbold, the Village Council has authorized the retirement of Thomas Ross then rehired him as the village’s interim chief of police. Ross was set to retire when Police Chief Joe Wyse became ill in September and Ross agreed to take over. If he didn’t retire now, they said he would lose benefits, and allowing him to retire and be rehired comes at no additional cost to the village. Ross will stay on as interim chief indefinitely.
