Area Fish Kill

Manure from field runoff may have led to a massive fish kill along Beaver Creek, stretching south from County Road M, between County Road 15 and County Road 16, to Opdycke Park. It’s a 9- to 10-mile stretch on the map. Scores of sun fish, bullhead and minnows, as well as a handful of northern pike were killed. The incident remains under investigation as a misdemeanor criminal act but no one has been cited.
