Funding awarded to NW Ohio conservation project.

The Ohio Public Works Commission announced that funding has been awarded to a Lucas County conservation project through the Clean Ohio Green Space Conservation Program. The state program is focused on environmental conservation, which includes acquiring green spaces and protecting and enhancing rivers and streams. Grant recipients are required to maintain these properties indefinitely, ensuring their preservation for future generations. The projects are evaluated by the state’s 19 regional natural resource assistance councils. In northwest Ohio, $178,300 was awarded to Lucas County and the Metroparks Toledo area for a “Monarch Trails” project.
