Area Man Found Dead

A rural Fremont man, reported missing to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, has been located and appears to have fallen victim to an accident. 35-year-old Derrick Church was reported missing by friends and family over a week ago, when no one was able to locate or get in touch with him. Church was last seen walking to his residence on East Peachy Road in rural Fremont from a neighbor’s house. It was determined Church had crawled under the residence, with a live electrical wire, to possibly make repairs to the home. He died from an apparent electrocution.
