Arrest made in Maumee State Park killing

Two men were arrested and charged in the fatal stabbing at Maumee Bay State Park on June 11th, authorities said. 18 year old Elijah Clark and 22-year-old Maurice Clark were arrested about 9 p.m. Monday and booked into the Lucas County jail, according to the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office. They were each charged with one count of murder and two counts of felonious assault. The victim was 24-year-old Karl Avery, who died from a stabbing the night of June 11 at Maumee Bay State Park. Two other people, who were injured in the stabbing, have been released from Mercy Health St. Charles Hospital. Both are adults. The incident was believed to be gang-related.
