Asst. to Kaptur enters guilty plea to wire fraud charge.

In a Virginia federal court on Tuesday, a former assistant to U.S. Representative Marcy Kaptur (OH-9) entered a guilty plea to a charge of wire fraud after allegedly using Kaptur’s personal credit card and banking details to settle her own expenses. 40 year old Courtney Melissa Hruska worked as an operations manager for Kaptur for seven years, according to the company’s office. Hruska was given the representative’s personal credit card and bank account information to make transactions in accordance with her responsibilities during this period, which the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Eastern District of Virginia stated was between August 2015 and January 2022.
