Avon J. Collins, 81

Avon J. Collins, age 81, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at 4:32 P.M. on Saturday, September 4, 2021, in her home after a sudden illness. Mrs. Collins was employed as a press operator at Allied Molded and retired with thirty-seven years of service. She attended the Gospel Tabernacle in Bryan and enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

Avon J. Collins was born on May 1, 1940, in Wise, Virginia, the daughter of Clifton and Thelma (Thompson) Greear. She married James H. Collins on October 13, 1955, in Wise, Virginia, and he preceded her in death on June 21, 2005.

Survivors include one son, Steve (Sheila) Collins, of Bryan; one daughter, Debra Burrows, of Defiance, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and five brothers, Bob Greear, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Gary, Eddie Wayne, Ronnie, and Lowell Greear, all of Monticello, Indiana. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Rick Collins; two daughters, Janet Green and Patsy Bigger; and two sisters, Wanda Gilliam and Frances Lewis.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will follow at 1:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Pastors Israel and Elaine Aguilar officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan.

Memorials are requested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
