The Montpelier electric department earns a national award for reliability, and intends to do even better in the future. Village Manager Jason Rockey says they earned the RP3 Award from the American Public Power Association. The program is based on industry-recognized practices in the disciplines of reliability, safety, workforce development and system improvement. An RP3 designation is a sign of a utility’s dedication to operating an efficient, safe and reliable distribution system. This year, Montpelier received the second best RP3 designation, platinum.
