Benefit For Fire Company Set For June 27

It was back in April, that the com­mu­nity of Edon lost its fire depart­ment after a fire in one of the truck bays. No one was injured, but all the fire trucks and nearly all of the gear was destroyed. Now, Com­mu­nity Memo­r­ial Hos­pi­tal of Hicksville is spon­sor­ing a 5K race and walk event on June 27 at Edon’s Walz Park for the fire depart­ment. The event will start at 9 a.m., with reg­is­tra­tion begin­ning at 8 a.m. T-shirts will be given out to the first 100 par­tic­i­pants.

Com­mu­nity Memo­r­ial Hos­pi­tal will also be sell­ing the T-shirts at the firemen’s con­ven­tion which will be held in Hicksville June 19–20. All prof­its will go directly to the Flo­rence Town­ship Fire Department.
