Bernard F. Batt, 88

Bernard F. Batt, age 88, of Montpelier, Ohio, passed away Tuesday morning, May 24, 2016 at Community Hospitals of Williams County in Montpelier. He retired from Bil-Jax in Archbold after 25 years, where he had been a welder and jig builder. He had also been a farmer. He enjoyed woodworking and his miniature horses.

Bernard was born in Defiance County, Ohio on August 19, 1927, the son of Walter and Bessie (Hancock) Batt. On October 25, 1947 he married Annabelle Replogle, and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Maurice (Cathie) Batt and Michael (Bonnie) Batt, of Montpelier; three grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and brother, David Batt, Sr. of Bryan. He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter Shirley Batt.

Visitation for Bernard will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday at the Evansport Cemetery, with Pastor Nick Woodall, officiating.
