Betty J. Herrington, age 88, of Edgerton, Ohio, and formerly of Stryker, Ohio, died at 6:45 P.M. on Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Park View Nursing Center in Edgerton after an extended illness. Mrs. Herrington was a 1945 graduate of Edgerton High School and had been been employed by The Ohio Art Company before working for Gorny-Winzeler for twenty-five years. She was a member of Bryan Chapter #248, Order of the Eastern Star, Montpelier Women of the Moose #270 and VFW Post #2489 Auxiliary. Betty was an avid bowler and enjoyed camping.
Betty J. Herrington was born on November 8, 1927, in Antwerp, Ohio, the daughter of Gary and Bertha (Thompson) Miller. She married Harold A. Herrington on June 6, 1946, in Bryan, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on January 1, 2003.
Survivors include one daughter, Loretta (Tom) Cape, of Edgerton, Ohio; three sons, Kenneth (Jeanie) Herrington, of Stryker, Ohio, Tommy (Jackie) Herrington, of Ney, Ohio, and Timothy Herrington, of Wauseon, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Robert and Gerald Miller, and two sisters, Doris Gilluame and Dora Bunting.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, from 12:00-2:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton. Services will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
