Betty L. Bostater Clark, 90

Betty L. Bostater Clark, 90 years, of West Unity, Ohio peacefully passed away Monday, August 24, 2020 at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance. Betty was born March 24, 1930, the daughter of the late Glenn and Milbert (Mosier) Phelps. She was a 1948 graduate of Huntsville High School, Huntsville, Indiana. Betty married Carlton J. Bostater on October 25, 1948 and he preceded her in death on January 3, 1976. She then married Sylvester J. Clark on June 9, 1990 and he preceded her in death on November 28, 1998. Betty worked at Beam Stream Inc., Montpelier, until her retirement in 1990. She previously worked at Ohio Art Company, Bryan. Betty attended The Friends and Family Church. She was a member of the West Unity Garden Club and the West Unity Senior Center. In her free time, Betty enjoyed visiting with others at the West Unity Senior Center; playing Euchre; flower and vegetable gardening. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling and camping.

Surviving is her daughter, Connie L. Bostater of West Unity, Ohio; two step-children, James (Cathy) Clark of Bryan, Ohio and Marilyn Chestnut of Bryan, Ohio; four grandchildren, Johann (Vickie) Bostater of Pioneer, Ohio, Jason (Jamie) Bostater of West Unity, Ohio , Kyle (Nicole) Bostater of Delta, Ohio, and Audrey (Jesse) Young of Muncie, Indiana; several step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Judy Bostater and Li Ping Bostater, along with several dear friends. She was preceded in death by her two husbands; three sons Infant Myron Emery Bostater, Garth L. Bostater and Mark E. Bostater; three sisters, Frances Hartzell, Martha Ford, and Juanita Detro; brother, Charles Phelps.

Graveside Services for Betty L. Clark will be held Friday, August 28, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. at Shiffler Cemetery with Mike Morgan officiating. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the family asks those attending services to wear a mask and to observe social distancing. Services by Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 202 North Liberty Street, West Unity.

The family ask those remembering Betty to make memorial contributions to The Friends and Family Church – Kayleigh Gigax or Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center.
