Big Pot Bust

The Defiance Police Department finds a thousand pounds of marijuana in a U-Haul. Jesus Torres-Salas of Springfield, was stopped on Highway 24 at Ralston Avenue for a traffic violation. A police K9 alerted officers where the marijuana was found. Torres-Salas and a passenger, David Rivera, were taken into custody. They are held at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio on possession charges. The case is being referred to the Defiance County prosecutor for presentation to a grand jury.
