Bipartisan group of state senators wants to “ban the box” on private sector employment applications.

Ten years ago, Ohio prohibited questions about past criminal convictions on job applications for public sector employees. Now, a bipartisan group of state senators wants to “ban the box” on private sector employment applications as well. Sen. Louis Blessing (R-Colerain Twp.) said Tuesday that he feels confident Senate Bill 143, which he’s submitted along with Sen. Hearcel Craig (D-Columbus), has a solid chance of making it across the finish line.
