Boo…

Spooks or Science?…A scarecrow just suddenly bursts into flames at a Greystone Drive residence in Bryan. Seriously. Looking at the calendar, it has some suspecting scary tales or ghosts and goblins making a visit. No. Crews put out the fire pretty fast. The owner put a real scarecrow, straw and all, on top of a planter box, with a dead plant in it. Fire Chief, Bruce Siders laid out the science behind it. The plant inside was decomposing…generating heat…setting the thing ablaze. Gardeners see the science…the rest of us, welll….boo.
