Bowling Green Post Investigating Injury Crash Involving Juvenile.

The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating an injury crash involving a juvenile. The crash was reported on March 01, 2026, at approximately 1:41 p.m., at the intersection of Fostoria Road and
Genoa Road, in Lake Township, Wood County.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a Chevrolet Silverado, operated by Eddie Hernandez, 75 years of age, of Port Clinton, was traveling west on Genoa Road. A Dodge Ram, operated by a juvenile, of Walbridge, was traveling south on Fostoria Road. The Ram failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck by the Silverado.
Mr. Hernandez sustained minor injuries. Cheryl Smith, 59 years of age, of Port Clinton, was a front seat passenger of the Silverado. Mrs. Smith sustained significant but non-life-threatening injuries. Both occupants of the Silverado were transported to Saint Vincent Medical Center. The juvenile driver of the Ram sustained minor injuries. A juvenile front seat passenger of the Ram, of Millbury, sustained minor injuries. Both occupants of the Ram were transported to Bay Park Hospital.

Impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash. The Ohio State Highway
Patrol reminds motorist to obey all traffic signs and signals.
This crash remains under investigation.
