An 11-year-old Topeka boy is struck and killed by a vehicle as he walked with a small wagon along a LaGrange County roadway. Police and medics were called to C.R. 400 South just west of C.R. 700 West. Investigators say 63-year-old Eva Kurtz of Middlebury was headed eastbound on 400 South when her vehicle struck the boy. Investigators say Kurtz saw the boy along the road, she could not avoid hitting him. The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff’s department.
