Bridge work to begin April 24 over Pigeon Creek

Steuben County’s Pigeon Creek Bridge on U.S. 20 will be reduced to single lane traffic controlled by temporary signal in the near future.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced that bridge work is scheduled to begin on U.S. 20 over Pigeon Creek, between County Road 650 West and County Road 620 W on or after Monday, April 24, weather permitting.
Motorists can expect to see contractors beginning to install a temporary traffic signal. The signal will be used to alternate vehicles over the 15-foot wide single-lane bridge while contractors complete a bridge deck replacement.
Later this month, motorists will see heavy equipment placing a temporary barrier wall. Lane restrictions on the bridge are expected.
IN-DOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through an active construction zone.
Restrictions on the U.S. 20 bridge over Pigeon Creek will remain through late September.
