Bryan Area Foundation’s big donation

Thanks to the Bryan Area Foundation, the Williams County YMCA has surpassed the half-way point in their capital campaign to raise $2.5 million. The foundation donated a half a million dollars, bringing the total raised to $1.3 million. The chairman of the Y’s fundraising campaign, Bill Martin, calls the donation “a real leadership gift.” He told the Bryan Times that it’s “another example of how the Bryan Area Foundation has been a leader in the community for decades.” The YMCA is raising money to build a new cardiovascular strength training fitness center, children’s indoor play area, group exercise and wellness studio, multipurpose room and renovate the locker rooms. Most of all, the money will also be used to make the entire facility accessible to all persons.
