Bryan Salt Supplies Hit Hard

Bryan Mayor Doug Johnson told City Council on Tuesday that the city has already used the 500 tons of rock salt it had stored for the winter.

The Bryan Times reports that Johnson said the city then ordered another 194 tons, which was followed by another order for another 73 tons.

Now, the mayor says he isn’t sure, with the winter we are having, whether or not the city will have enough to carry it through till spring.

Johnson is asking all Bryan residents to keep their sidewalks shoveled, especially those sidewalks near schools so children can use them.
