BRYAN UTILITIES REDUCING STAFF

The staff of Bryan Munic­i­pal Util­i­ties will soon be reduced by two.

The board on Tues­day voted to elim­i­nate the posi­tions of assis­tant util­i­ties direc­tor and pur­chas­ing agent effec­tive June 30.

The board also passed a motion grant­ing the board chair­man or vice chair­man the author­ity to sign legal doc­u­ments until a new direc­tor is hired.

Accord­ing to the Bryan Times, BMU employs 24 peo­ple in field work such as line­men and water tech­ni­cians, plus 22 oth­ers as sup­port staff.
