BUSINESSMAN DEAD

A well known area busi­ness­man is dead. The Bryan Times is report­ing that 62 year old Jim Thomp­son, founder of Thomp­son Con­struc­tion, died Mon­day at Parkview Regional Med­ical Cen­ter in Fort Wayne fol­low­ing a sud­den ill­ness.

Thomp­son was born in Wauseon, grew up in West Unity and grad­u­ated from Bryan High School before serv­ing in the U.S. Navy Reserves.

He opened his busi­ness in 1980. Thomp­son was known for his work ethic and atten­tion to detail.

He was also active in the com­mu­nity as a mem­ber of the Bryan Lions Club.

Thomp­son is sur­vived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Rebecca, a daugh­ter, two grand­sons, a brother and sister.
