A well known area businessman is dead. The Bryan Times is reporting that 62 year old Jim Thompson, founder of Thompson Construction, died Monday at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne following a sudden illness.
Thompson was born in Wauseon, grew up in West Unity and graduated from Bryan High School before serving in the U.S. Navy Reserves.
He opened his business in 1980. Thompson was known for his work ethic and attention to detail.
He was also active in the community as a member of the Bryan Lions Club.
Thompson is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Rebecca, a daughter, two grandsons, a brother and sister.
