Police arrest an Elkhart man in connection with two armed robberies that happened in Logansport. Rex Hammond was stopped by police in Marshall County…they think he might have robbed two other stores in the Angola area.

Carlisle Fluid Tech in closing it’s doors at it’s Angola facility. The company is based in Scottsdale, Arizona and has had the Angola location for roughly 40 years. 31 people will lose their jobs.

Construction of a new splash pad at Defiance’s Bronson Park should begin shortly. City Council approved an emergency ordinance during a special meeting that allows a contract with Vortex USA for its construction. The cost is $356,985.

An RV manufacturer is going to expand its operations. Forest River will develop its properties in DeKalb County, creating up to 125 new jobs by 2019. Plans call for investing $2.9 million on renovations of existing buildings and construction of a new facility in Butler for purchasing, production and dispatching.

The murder trial of a Fort Wayne man is stopped after he pleads guilty to the charge. The short trial saw a motion for a mistrial following opening statements in the case against Daniel Zerbe. That motion was dismissed…the state had not yet finished presenting its case when Zerbe entered …

Someone left a threatening note in the boys bathroom at Wauseon Elementary School. It was directed toward school staff members inside a stall. The school had additional police presence, as personnel interviewed students about the writings.

A man is in custody after a more than 3-hour standoff at an apartment complex in Fort Wayne. The suspect came out of the apartment after police deployed several canisters of tear gas. No one was hurt.

A suspect in an embezzlement investigation turns herself in at the Branch County Jail. Katherine Foster of Fremont was a purchasing agent for Bluezers Cruzers in Quincy. The owners say $50,000 went missing from the business in 2016.

A crash on I-469 leaves one personally badly hurt. First responders were called to the 21 mile marker, a mile north of the U.S. 24 interchange near New Haven…one person was trapped in a vehicle in critical condition. Investigators say a sedan rear-ended a van.

One person was almost killed in a crash on East Butler Street in Bryan. The victim was saved by a medication used to block the effects of opioids. Witnesses told police the vehicle struck a light pole. Charges are pending.
