Clark Ely McLaughlin, 94 years, of Bryan, and formerly of West Unity and a 38 year resident of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Ebeid Hospice, Sylvania, Ohio. Clark was born August 9, 1919 in Jefferson Township, Williams County, Ohio, the son of the late Hubert Lee and Breva May (Ely) McLaughlin. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the 3401st Ordnance Medical Auto Maintenance Company. Clark married Dorothy L. McCloe on September 21, 1944, and she preceded him in death in April 1995. Clark was a Supervisor for Motorola Electronics Government Electronics Division, in Scottsdale, Arizona, for 33 years, retiring in 1982. Prior to this, he was a press operator for Winzeler Stamping in Montpelier. He was a member of the Bryan First Church of Christ and the Senior Saints Group.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dorothy, one brother, William C. McLaughlin and one sister, Arlene Carrington. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as a good friend, Roger Spring.
There will not be any visitation and graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2014 at Waldron Cemetery, Waldron, Michigan with Pastor Larry Snavely officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 202 North Liberty Street, West Unity.
