Cleon Hohenberger, 84

Cleon Hohenberger, 84 years, of Defiance, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance, with his family at his side. Cleon was born April 26, 1932 in Defiance, Ohio, the son of the late Orville and Blanche (Eitinear) Hohenberger. He was a 1950 graduate of Defiance High School. A Navy veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict, Cleon married Minnie C. “Min” Rittenhouse on March 4, 1955 in Defiance, and she survives. Cleon worked for General Motors for 43 years, retiring in 1997. He attended the Defiance Christian Church. Cleon loved to work in his yard, go bowling and feed the birds. He also loved to go to McDonald’s twice a day to solve the problems of the world with his friends.

Surviving is his wife Minnie “Min” Hohenberger of Defiance; two children, Candace (Rick) Clay of Toledo and Jamie (Cathy) Hohenberger of Defiance; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Emmajean Stork of Defiance and Ann Deepe of Bryan. He was preceded in death by his parents, four grandchildren, Infant Joshua Baldwin, Infant Anthea Baldwin, Rebecca Rae Hohenberger and Jared Baldwin; two brothers, Darwood Hohenberger and Darlene Hohenberger.

There will not be any visitation and services will be private for the family. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial donations be given to Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center or to Defiance Christian Church.
