Cold weather and flu season are creating challenges for blood donation efforts across the country, including in Northwest Ohio. According to the American Red Cross, winter storms have led to widespread blood drive cancellations nationwide. In just the last week, more than 200 blood drives were canceled across the United States, resulting in more than 7,000 units of blood going uncollected.
